Driving – calculate the smartest route

Make your journey more comfortable by avoiding the neighbourhood of the Sportpaleis. Park at a Park+Ride and continue your journey to the venue by tram or bus. Your combiticket Sportpaleis/Lotto Arena – De Lijn is a valid ticket for public transport! Together the P+R-lots offer parking space for almost 2,000 vehicles.

When travelling by car, take the following into account…

Road works Oosterweel link

Works have started on Linkeroever (left Scheldt bank) for the construction of the Oosterweel link that will close the R1 ring road around Antwerp. Visitors coming via E17 Ghent-Kortrijk and E34 Knokke should be aware of possible delays. More information

Building works Theunis Bridge at the Sportpaleis until March 2021

The current Gabriël Theunis bridge over the Albert Canal near the Sportpaleis will be replaced by a new, higher bridge. Due to the works, the parking Vaart to the right of the Sportpaleis is not available to the general public at events. We ask visitors coming from the north to use the new Carrette parking spot in Merksem. Visitors coming from other directions can use the Slachthuis parking spot and (if available) the Spoor Oost parking spot. Parking Vaart however remains accessible for people with a “wheelchair” ticket and holders of an EU standardized model of parking card for the disabled.

Low Emission Zone

Since 1 February 2017, the entire city centre of Antwerp and part of Linkeroever are a Low Emission Zone where the most polluting cars are no longer welcome. Our parking spots Slachthuis and Park Spoor Oost are situated in this zone, which is indicated with its own traffic sign. There are stricter conditions for admission as of 1 January 2020. Always check your vehicle with the check tool before entering the LEZ.

Parking Spoor Oost

The paved area of former railway yard Spoor Oost, a 10-hectare terrain along the Noordersingel in Borgerhout, is often used as a car park when events are taking place both in the Sportpaleis as in the Lotto Arena. Both venues are located close by. Payments for your parking session can be made on vending machines or by application and SMS by introducing your license plate. You pay 5 euros per parking session. The car park opens 3 hours before the start of the show and parking is possible until 2 hours after the event.

The car park is equipped with ANPR cameras. They register your license plate when you enter and exit. That’s why there are no barriers in this car park. Your license plate is only registered in the system if you leave without paying. In this case, you will have to pay a parking fee of 30 euros.

Please note that Parking Spoor Oost is located in the Low Emission Zone. (see info above)
